Berthing solutions offered by ancasta

After the decision to purchase a boat the next consideration is often where you choose to keep her. This decision will be based on lots of factors; convenience, distance to your home, distance to preferred cruising grounds, and of course, cost.

When the time comes to sell, the decision parameters may shift and a wise vendor could consider moving their boat to the best available local market-place. With Ancasta’s unprecedented spread of offices along the UK’s south coast, we can offer several berthing options; this has the benefit of not only bringing your boat to the busiest local market, but also keeping costs down.

It is important that your boat is easily accessible for potential buyers; we often find buyers are time-poor and a quick and convenient location can multiply the number of viewings we will carry out.

All Ancasta offices have experienced and qualified brokers who live locally and can provide advice on the best solutions for berthing whilst your boat is on the market. Many of our offices are also able to offer discounted berthing rates for boats that are for sale with us.

Imagine you have a 12m long Beneteau Oceanis 40, what would your options be?

  1. Starting our journey in the West Country, Ancasta Dartmouth has a 48m long berth in the very middle of Darthaven Marina for the use of boats that are exclusively for sale with us. The monthly charge for your Oceanis would be just £360 per month. Venturing further eastwards, Ancasta Lymington has storage solutions both ashore and afloat.
  2. Further East - with Ancasta Port Hamble (Head Office) there is storage afloat offered in our sales pool from £432 per month for your Oceanis 40 and we see the first offering of our exclusive ‘Ancasta Complete’ berthing package – so-called because it should offer you everything you need to sell your boat; £285 gets your yacht lifted, scrubbed, block-off, stored ashore for 2 months and a free external wash-down on our dedicated brokerage walkway.
  3. At the head of the Hamble River Ancasta Swanwick is able to offer you a similar ‘Ancasta Complete’ package, as can Ancasta Port Solent and Ancasta Chichester.
  4. Our journey eastwards ends with Ancasta Brighton who have 15 premium berths right outside their office in a prime viewing/high footfall area in the centre of Brighton Marina. Here, your Oceanis 40 could be displayed for just £314 per month.

So, if you are thinking about selling your boat, please do talk to your local Ancasta office about the berthing solutions we offer; as well as working hard to get you the best possible price in the shortest possible time, we may also be able to save you money on berthing whilst your boat is offered on the market.
